Wednesday Inspiration: Girly Goth
Halloween is admittedly my least favorite holiday of the year. Sure all of the candy and dressing up are fun, but I just can't get past the straight up fugliness of the holiday's theme colors. Orange and black...seriously? Can you say yuck with a capital "Y"??!!!
Anyway, I know a lot of my blog readers just LOVE Halloween, so I didn't want to ignore your excitement all together.

This week's inspiration board is my own interpretation of Halloween '09. Believe it or not, I'm actually borderline in love with this "Girly Goth" concept that I've created : ) What do you think? We've moved! Please finish reading this post at: Ariel Yve Design

Lifestyle Find: Connoisseur Glasses
As a stereotypical Taurus, comfort, beauty and LUXURY are absolutely essential elements of my life.
With that said, my grandparents grew up during The Great Depression. Their unique perspective on economics drove them to instill strong work ethics and financial values in my parents, and in turn, myself. We've moved! Please visit Ariel Yve Design to finish reading this post!

Wednesday Inspiration: Summer Cottage on the Cape
Rain, rain go away...come again another day.
California has been too dry for too long and I'm glad that it's finally raining, but my holy moly...do we have to make up for it all at once?
Anyway, between taking care of all of my vendor phone calls, client proposals, timeline revisions, rental orders, and so on today, I couldn't help but let my mind wonder off to my favorite fantasy summer spot. A quaint little rose covered cottage on the Cape.
One of my favorite summers ever was spent exploring New England with my mom (Martha's Vineyard to be exact). I just fell in love with regions charming shabby chic vibe.
The grand Georgian style bed and breakfast the we stayed at, was brimming with gorgeous fruitwood furniture, needle point rugs, whitewashed iron chandeliers and all sorts of fascinating colored glassware. Plus as a sugar obsessed 10 year old, I LOVED the fact that they served homemade chocolate chip cookies with fresh squeezed lemonade every afternoon : ) The lifestyle that the innkeepers shared with us was so delightfully laid back and welcoming.
This weeks inspiration board is inspired by that magical summer, over 16 years ago.

Friday Flowers: Peonies
Today's floral inspiration comes from this gorgeous white peony bouquet that I'd created for a gorgeous bride named Lindsay. Lindsay's wedding took place in Palm Springs this past June. Under normal conditions peonies will last all day out of water, but with the 103 degree weather that weekend, I used a water soaked floral foam bouquet holder, just to be on the extra safe side.
