Color Trends: Navy, the New Black

I am constantly asked what the current trends are in wedding design and quite frankly, I can almost never give a complete answer.

The reason is primarily because I rarely design weddings to reflect current trends.  One of Ariel Yve Design's "Core Values" is to provide our clients with the best possible value.  In that value, I believe that it's important to design every wedding that we do to have a certain level of timeless elegance (we always aim for our clients' event designs to be relevant 30, 50, 100 years down the road).

With that said, over the past month, every single bride that I've met with has mentioned navy in some way or another.

When I was in Las Vegas last week, I walked into the Coach store in Caesars Palace and saw that their current "hot color" was navy as well.  I've been seeing navy, navy everywhere...dare I call these sightings a trend?  Could navy really be the new black (or chocolate brown)?

Navy is classic and elegant when paired with pink, ivory and white, yet bold and sultry when paired with rich jewel tones.

How do you plan to incorporate navy into your wedding or next event?
